Welcome to Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous is a world-wide fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are not affiliated with any other organizations and we have no initiation fees or dues. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using.

NA LogoWe make use of the “tools of recovery” that have worked for other recovering addicts who have learned – in NA -- to live without drugs. As recovering addicts, we know the pain of addiction, but we also know the joy of recovery we have found in the fellowship of NA.

Although we have not found a cure for addiction, we do offer a proven plan for daily recovery.

It’s October as I write this.  That means a number of things in my life.  Several things happened to/for me in my recovery during this month.  I went to my first NA function in October, a Halloween dance where I stood with my back to the wall and wondered why I was even there.  Had it not been for my sponsor, I would not have.  He told me that I needed to put some other people in my life besides himself and his wife.  I often still feel uncomfortable when around many people in the room. That night, I experienced a desperate feeling of awkwardness as I stood with my back to the wall, hoping to be left alone.  Until, that is, Martin came up and grubbed a cigarette.
